Bag-n-borrow joins Pepsi Refresh Project!

The “Bag’n Borrow Project,” to be launched in Charlotte, NC and Indianapolis, IN is currently in the running for the $50k category in the Pepsi Refresh Project for this month. A win would grant $50,000 to help a local resident launch the program in select retail locations in these areas within the next 6-12 months.  The project would then expand throughout the United States.

Carrie Taylor, an Indianapolis resident, and her long-time friend from North Carolina, Margaret Pryor, have created the patent pending Bag-n-Borrow™ system in an effort to give themselves and others an alternative to using plastic bags. The Bag-n-Borrow™ Project is a system that integrates with the retail environment to make high quality reusable bags readily available at the checkout for consumers to use. “The number one reason cited for not using reusable bags is that people forget their bags,” says Carrie Taylor, “We want to give people an alternative to using plastic when they forget their reusable bags, and we want to make it more convenient for those who desire to use reusable bags but find it too inconvenient.”  Margaret Pryor adds, “We wanted to come up with a real solution for plastic bag pollution that doesn’t penalize the consumer or the retailer.”  Bag-n-Borrow™ bags will be made of 100% natural recyclable materials. Consumers will never have to worry about lead contamination.
